– as usual, this shy bird always hiding behind something. But this time with CANON R3, using single point to touch any part of the bird body. The bird eye will be lock focus and track. So simple compare to old time.

How I wish can spend more time with this beautiful bird, but guests still has targets.. lets move on.

– 在西马，这可是非常难拍到的一只鸟。可是在沙巴好几个低海拔的保护森林，都还是容易看到拍到。在丹浓谷几乎没错过，这次到塔宾野生动物保护区。就找找，看来也是蛮容易的。

– very lucky moment, I am suppose to look for ours last missing target. But I saw these 2 birds keep moving together and I decided to spend minutes to have some good video and pictures. After I got few clips, the Giant Pitta call and that’s the best moment happen. Got the Giant pitta calling for everyone of us

– one of my favorite birds of Malaysia, it is small, cute, active and lovely bird. It always moving with wing span open. But it almost invisible by naked eye.

– with the new canon Pre-continuous Shooting function, simple when see the bird stay still, half-press shutter .. and when see the wing open or move press the shutter .. than anything happen in before .5s will be record as raw into camera .. make this kind of picture simple

– limestone special, it is like other’s Wren-babbler. active and overall brown, with rufous cheek, chest

– 鹪鹛属小型鸟类，体长17-19厘米。上体灰橄榄褐色具黑色鳞状斑，具一条缀有黑点的灰白色眉纹。颏，喉和上胸白色具暗色纵纹，尤以胸部纵纹较密集，其余下体黑橄榄褐色。虹膜红褐色，上嘴深角褐色，下嘴灰铅色，脚灰褐色。

Large Wren Babbler 大鹪鹛 | liewwk

Another bird into my frame (picture lifer) , beside Marbled Wren-Babbler .. this is another big wren-babbler .. and again it behave like other Wren-Babbler , skittish, flying around, calling non stop , calling laugh .. etc ….

As usual, saw this bird in the forest but most the time without camera or just flip seconds ..

另一只令人又爱又恨的鸟。总是跳来跳去，见人飞，也喜欢叫。就如其他鹪鹛

– it calling non stop while we waiting for other birds nearby .. and when we try trace it for photo no success for ~1hour .. end up we chase it with handheld !!!! … in the dark forest

– guests had specify species to look for but dint mentioned frogmouth before meet up. But the route make us difficult to arrange. But we tried few locations still can’t have any frogmouth until day 8. We went a trail for birding just before it rain, we saw this bird shaking just ~10 feet from us. what a lucky moment for guests and immediate after this bird we also saw a female Malaysia Peacock-Pheasant too than follow by heavy rain for next 2- hours. – 客人这次来是为了指定目标来的。可是来到后，非常渴望看到蟆口鸱。可是路程已安排，不容易有机会看到。可是我们也尽量尝试，在第8天下午。我们还以为在酒店度过因为乌云密布。可是我们还是去了一个步道，到不10分钟这鸟在我们前放10尺摇动。天啊！这么幸运。可是幸运之神还没离去。在看到这鸟后。尽然也把凤冠孔雀雉拿下。今天，尽然拿下凤冠孔雀雉，冠鸦, 鳞腹蟆口鸱, 大鹪鹛等。

– while looking for more interesting subjects, this tiny bird came queitly whithout any vocal, but the movement attract me and got this moment

– another moment with new CANON new R1 .. it is really fun and easy to capture any “birds in flight – begin, perch” just half press the shutter button enable the “Pre-capture” and when the moment after bird fly… press the shutter .. anything .5s before will be captured into the disk in full RAW without stop the Camera continous focus while the flying ..

– 小，棕+白小啄木鸟。通常在红树林，河边可以见到。

– 在我预佳能R1的好几天，这是我真的觉得。以后几乎“飞鸟“的照片应该是很普通了。有了新的预拍功能，只要在鸟起飞前半按下对焦键钮。当鸟飞起，半秒前以内的全RAW档都会记录下。最重要的是拍了后，相机还是一样的可以正常继续拍摄不用任何等待。

– small and confuse with Sunda Woodpecker which only near the mangrove, river side.

– Gray-capped which is mostly at the forest, garden, etc, and mostly Blackish above, pale with black streaking and buffy-gray wash below. Male’s tiny red nape mark is often invisible

– very small endemic woodpecker

– 很小的啄木。蘇拉威西特有種。

– another lucky bird my fellow buddy believe. He always think, after we got any woodpecker sign. The luck will be good .. so we normally look for woodpecker before look for ours target

– 我的老好朋友+客人。他坚信只要看到啄木鸟，好运就回来。所以每次我们要找目标鸟（他其实在东南亚看几乎很多鸟了）都会先找只啄木鸟先。这可是很小，可爱+不难的啄木鸟。自己跳来跳去。

– ours 2nd stop after Indian Scop-Owl, this bird seem common almost any area we birding after day1

– 我们到达之后停的第2个点，这鸟蛮普通的。接下来几天，几乎在哪都看得到

a very similar flameback woodpecker but female seem very yellowish

– 与我们的金背很像，可是母鸟很黄。

– it seem not very common at Sri Lanka, local guide seem very worry to missed this species. When we arrived a village the bird just stand there for so long and sharing same tree with a Red-backed Flameback

– overall like size and shape Greater flameback in Malaysia. But back is “red” instead

– not as common as Red-backed Flameback

– 与马来西亚的大金背像，就红色背。也不很普通

– it is slightly bigger and not so comon compare to the Red-Backed and this is also endemic of Sri Lanka

– 比起红背三趾啄木鸟，较大，不普通。这也是特有种
