I am Canon user for long, and recently I have my Panasonic setup slowly build up. I like my L lens and my G9 ….
one day, someone told me . I actually can use all my L lens on my M4/3 G9 . Due to busy work schedule, I dont have time to look into it until last week. I finally have time purchase one online and test it last 2 days … I did very quick test more testing would like to do
so I started with m2 adapter which give me
1. 1.4 crop (mean 500mm Canon F4 IS2, I got ~710mm and biggest aperture F2.8)
2. one stop bigger aperture
3. lost len Image stabiliser
4. AFC hunting, AFH is not working at all
5. either TC (CANON, PANASONIC) is not working (but tested on Olympus camera, it is working but very slow AF)
6. AF speed almost same like my G9 + LEICA 200mm F2.8 (almost not noticeable different)
– a rare and Endangered species
– Borneo Tabin and Kinabatangan river are 2 places easier to see this bird
– 珍稀瀕危物種
– 婆羅洲塔賓與京河是比較見到這鳥的鳥點。
update 202509
This is one of those birds that can easily be overlooked, even though it’s quite easy to spot along the Kinabatangan River. But if you take a moment to look closely, it’s truly a beautiful bird.
这是一种很容易被忽略的鸟,虽然在京那巴当岸河很容易看到。但如果你认真看,它其实非常漂亮。

– A dark-brown stork with green-bronze iridescence on the wings and breast. It has a distinctive white ruffled neck, a white tail, and a dark salmon-tipped bill. Resident and migrant. Individuals and small groups forage in rivers, shallow wetland margins, urban grassy areas, and flooded grasslands for insects and small vertebrates. May gather in groups of several hundred when conditions are suitable. (EBird)

update 202401
– when we first saw it, we ask the van to stop … and make the right decision. It is best view after this for the next 7-8 days
A tall, lanky, black-and-white stork with a unique red, yellow, and black bill. The male has dark-brown eyes, and the female has yellow eyes. In flight, the bird’s massive size, and the dark bands in the center of the white wings are diagnostic. Scarce but conspicuous; mostly resident but can be partially nomadic in parts of the range. Found singly or in pairs at rivers and large undisturbed wetlands, foraging for favorites like catfish, but it will also take frogs, birds, and insects. [Ebird]
It is one of the birds everyone of us dreams of seeing and photographing, with its beak’s vibrant colors being absolutely stunning. We were fortunate to observe it up close, offering great views and excellent photo opportunities.

As usual, this large and conspicuous stork stands out. It is commonly found in both urban areas and forests. Watching it slowly walk across the golf course provided us with a great photo opportunity.
It’s such a unique bird—many might call it ugly, but I don’t think any birder would agree. To me, it’s a beautiful creature, full of fascinating details.

I am trying the setup for weeks, and I want to try some not quite fast moving bird with the “High resolution” mode which blend 8 RAW to single which make 80 MP image(raw)
Fruithunter , a rare Borneo Endemic. which normal found near fruiting tree .
When with guests walking into trail , a bird just flew in ~5 feet from me …from the quick and fast reaction I thought it is a little cuckoo dove . But when it perch, I am wrong !!! it is a Fruithunter and a pair (male stand little bit away)
– while I am spending time to look for the Pheasant, this bird keep entertain me.. even at ours’ accommodation area, 1 pair seem very tame and flying around
