a beetle that I meet few years back and found it again last year … but last year I saw it kill a wasp (too fast but saw a dead wasp after this beelte land on the same leaf )
The haemolymph in the beetle’s entire body (except the wings) contains the most poisonous animal contact toxin in the world called ‘pederin’ (C24 H43 O9 N) named in 1953. It is 12 times more poisonous than cobra venom ! Dried and stored rove beetle for 8 years still retained it’s toxicity !
yes .. I always tell my friends, my picture have minimum PP especially macro pictures .. but I still spend 10 minutes on this picture …..
actually the Post Processing (PP) only spend 1-2 minutes .. but to remove the sensor dusts spots… took ~12-13minutes …
for me … dusts is something really killing .. especially for landscape and macro photography .. hope one day .. camera manufacturer can have better solution for us rather we sit infront of PC for >10 minutes !!!!
went a reserve jungle with my friends and family … and have a quick macro hunting … found a weird assassin bug where it stay close to tress with sticky (white, brown) liquid … and it’s “hand” change from tiny to bigger claw (just look like crab claw) .. not sure what they want to do that .. and if possible I will re-visit and see whether it use for food hunting ? (other insect stuck on the sticky liquid just can go away easily)
have a close view on it’s “claw”
first time I meet this …. and more Assassin bug click
I love to capture this beetle but too bad this beetle is skittish/shy .. and not easy to get close so have a closer shot .. so most of the shots I use SIGMA150 instead my MP-E65
1. the green one .. and most difficult to get close
